Darshan at Umiya Mataji Temple

What Is Darshan?
Darshan literally means “sight” or “seeing” in Sanskrit. In the context of a temple, it refers to the sacred act of seeing the deity and being seen by the deity in return. It’s not just a visual act—it’s a powerful spiritual exchange.

Why Darshan Is Important at a Temple

1. Spiritual Connection

  • Temples are believed to be energetic centers where the deity’s presence (divine energy or shakti) is especially strong.

  • By seeing the deity’s image (murti), devotees believe they receive blessings, grace, and positive energy.
